Student leadership

The school is lead by the administration team comprising the Principal and two Deputy Principals who share the full time position. This team encourages the development of leadership density through negotiated program management. All teachers and staff are encouraged and supported in roles of responsibility.

The administration team and Parents’ and Citizens’ Association work in a productive partnership based on shared decision making with the Principal as the chief executive.

A Local Consultative Committee (LCC) exists to provide staff representation in some decision making.

A Student Council operates from years 4-7. This forum provides advice to the Principal and makes recommendations regarding issues important to students.

Year 7 students at Bulimba State School have the opportunity to hold a number of leadership positions. Some of these leadership roles include

  • School Captain
  • School Vice Captain
  • Environment Captain
  • Music Captain
  • Languages (Italian) Captain
  • Sports House Captains
  • Library Captain
All Year 7 students are trained as Peer Support Leaders. Students that hold these positions play an important role in our school and support younger students.
