One of the cornerstones of our school is the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. This program integrates gardening and cooking into school life and emphasises healthy eating, environmental stewardship and life skills. Our students enjoy learning about plant life and culinary techniques as this builds their appreciation of sustainable food practices. Bulimba has well-established vegetable gardens and a full kitchen, where students engage in hands-on learning by growing, harvesting, and preparing fresh produce. Kitchen and garden classes are delivered by program specialists, with the support of the classroom teacher. This program generates so much joy in our community as parents, grandparents and students work side by side to experience the pleasure of transforming food from the garden into a delicious shared meal.
