The Student Council was formed out of a need for student representation in our school. The Student Council is comprised of two elected class representatives from Years 4 - 6, School Captains and Vice Captains. The leaders perform the role of Chairperson and Secretary. Student Council representatives also share meeting information with an allocated Prep-Year 3 class.
We believe that children have a right to a say in the way their school operates.
Therefore, the role of the Student Council is essentially to:
• maintain an open communication link between student, teacher, community
• provide a forum to voice their views
• allow students to operate in a leadership role
Some initiatives implemented by the Student Council:
• discos
• purchase and installation of water coolers
• composting
• table and chair settings
• fundraising for selected charities
• playground and sporting equipment
• supporting School Captain initiatives
Student Council meetings are held each Thursday at 2nd break.
